I want to build muscle, guys. Seriously. I realized how weak I was when I went to a kids’ bounce arena and couldn’t use the rope to climb over a plush wall. And the kids were scaling that wall like it was a speed bump in the road.
So I’ve decided to start weight training. As a beginner, I decided that it might help other beginners out there if I posted on the blog with some tips on how to make your weight training exercise the most effective.
- Did you know that free weights activate a larger amount of muscles than machine weights? I’m heading to buy a set of dumbbells right now.
- It’s hard to increase muscle while losing fat, especially if you stick solely to weight training. This is why cardio is important, too.
- Make sure you warm up and cool down, just like you would with cardio exercise.
- Don’t rush through the exercises. Instead, slow down and take your time – and remember to always use the correct form.
