There's always been some confusion about red meat. Is it totally unhealthy? Recent studies lead us to believe so, especially those claiming that too much red meat can cause cancer. I was happy to come across an article in Mail Online that directly spoke about my concerns.
The article addresses Britain's Department of Health's recommendations that a person only eat 500 grams (or approximately 18 ounces) of red meat each week. This is a far stricter recommendation than previously, when Brits were safe eating up to 90 grams (or approximately three ounces) each day. On the other hand, the studies also touch on the fact that eating too little red meat can lead to a deficiency in iron.
Where do you stand on the red meat debate? Do you believe that we should cut back on the amount of red meat we ingest? Or do you think we should cut red meat out of our diet entirely, like Dr. Edward F. Group III, author of The Green Body Cleanse, suggests?
