I know—it sounds crazy, doesn’t it? But that’s what probiotics is, and that’s
what it does: it’s a dietary supplement
consisting of live bacteria that helps your digestion and has countless health
benefits. Here are a few of the results
that you can expect when you begin your own probiotics regimen.
- Lower
Your Blood Pressure
There have been a few small
clinical studies that show that strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), which is
found in probiotics, helps to moderately reduce your blood pressure. That beats taking pesky, daily,
full-of-side-effects prescription medication, doesn’t it?
That’s almost enough said, isn’t
it? But you know me: I love to talk, and I have to explain myself
when I make a claim. LAB has some
seriously beneficial effects on the function of the immune system. They increase the number of IgA-producing
plasma cells, the proportion of T lymphocytes and Natural Killer cells, as well
as improving phagocytosis. All of this
has been medically tested and proven.
And that’s not all! Clinical
trials have also shown that those who regularly take LAB are less prone to
respiratory tract infections and other diseases. This is reason enough to take probiotics in
my book.
Anything that can help me to feel better, have more energy,
and spend less time sick—I’m in! Sounds
to me like probiotics fit that bill.
